Frequently Asked Questions ...

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is the practice of applying gentle pressure to the reflexes on the hands or feet. The aim of the treatment is to create a feeling of deep relaxation, stimulate the body's own healing processes and bring about a feeling of balance and wellbeing.

Reflexology can help aid relaxation, improve mood, release tension, enhance sleep and can generally help improve wellbeing; allowing us to cope better with the stresses that life can bring.

What happens during a reflexology treatment?

Your first session of reflexology is 80 minutes long and follow up treatment sessions are 60 minutes long, including consultation and feedback.

At your first session I will ask you to fill in a client details record (including medical history.) Together we then  discuss how reflexology can help you.

During the treatment all you need to do is sit in the reflexology chair, lie back, relax and enjoy the treatment.

At the end of the session I will gently bring you back to a seated position, offer you a glass of water and discuss the next steps to help you and your health.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes. You only need to remove footwear and socks. Tights are best avoided as are short or tight fitting skirts.

Can you diagnose an illness?

No, reflexology is not used to diagnose illness. It is not a medical treatment and it does not claim to cure. Reflexology promotes and facilitates relaxation and healing within the body.
